Questions and answers

What is GLEE, and what is Round Zero?

Honest answers. No surprises.

What GLEE is

What is GLEE?

GLEE is a human-AI project building an AI system — Glee Phoenix — designed to help research, coordinate, explain, and operate the project itself under human oversight. The goal is not just to use AI as a tool, but to build an organization whose central AI is part of the operating structure.

At the same time, the tools GLEE builds — local-first agents with memory, verification, and receipts — will become available to others as an open-source platform.

What is Glee Phoenix?

Glee Phoenix is the AI being purpose-built at the center of GLEE. It is not a product feature — it is part of how GLEE operates: researching, building, coordinating, and verifying the project's own work under human guidance.

Who controls GLEE?

The human founder guides the mission, makes final judgment calls, defines the boundaries, and maintains oversight. The AI systems do the work. Supporters have an advisory voice through Compass (once it launches) — not control over decisions.

How is GLEE organized?

GLEE operates on a two-track structure:

  • GLEE Builder / Labs / Phoenix — the operational side. Builds software, accepts Round Zero support, pays for infrastructure, and may become a company. Round Zero funds this track.
  • GLEE Foundation / Society — a planned future public-good branch for open-source stewardship, education, research, grants, and community governance. Not active yet.

This lets GLEE stay practical and fundable now while preserving a larger public-good mission later.

Will GLEE have accounts?

Yes, likely later. Accounts are not active in prelaunch. The future account layer is intended for supporter identity, contribution receipt history, display preferences, update settings, platform membership, task participation, and agent interaction history. Current status is simple: no login, no passwords, no sessions, no account data.

Is GLEE open-source?

GLEE intends to open-source significant portions of its work over time. This is a project goal, not a binding commitment in Round Zero. The operating structure is built to be transparent: receipts, build logs, and machine-readable state are public.

Round Zero

Is Round Zero open?

No. Round Zero is in PRELAUNCH. Contributions are not being accepted until cashier rails, receipts, contribution terms, privacy rules, and supporter-record behavior are verified. The site shows what exists now — not what is promised later.

What is Round Zero funding?

Hardware, infrastructure, and sustained build time. The first $10,000 CAD builds GLEE's local compute base — the foundation for continuous model verification, research, and development.

What do supporters get?

Supporters receive recognition, early supporter status, project updates, and access benefits as the platform develops. Contribution records can be public, private, or anonymous depending on the final supporter settings.

Is this an investment?

No. Round Zero is voluntary project support. The strict contribution boundary is kept in one place: Contribution Terms.

What about refunds?

Current state: no payments are accepted, so no refunds apply yet. When Round Zero opens, contributions are voluntary project support and non-refundable by default. GLEE may review a reversal only if required by the payment platform, applicable law, duplicate charge handling, or clear processing error. Full rules live in Contribution Terms.

Trust and proof

How do I know this is real?

The project publishes receipts. Builds, route checks, status changes, and launch gates link to public records where possible. The machine-readable state at /status.json shows what is live and what is not. Payments are explicitly disabled in prelaunch — the state file confirms it.

What is a receipt?

A receipt is a durable, dated record of what was built or decided, who (or which agent) did it, and what verification was applied. Receipts are GLEE's primary proof surface — the way claims stay honest over time.

What about privacy?

No cookies, no tracking scripts, no third-party data brokers. Infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare may process limited request metadata for security, routing, abuse prevention, and service operation. Supporter records expose limited public fields only when a contributor chooses public or anonymous display. Full policy at Privacy.

Supporter voice and Compass

What is Seed Power (SP)?

SP is a planned internal supporter voice-weight system for Compass. It helps prioritize ideas; it does not control GLEE and it is not a refund, redemption, investment, or payout mechanism.

What is Compass?

Compass is GLEE's advisory direction system — the mechanism through which supporters can propose ideas and signal priorities. Compass votes are advisory, not binding. GLEE may accept, modify, or reject any proposal, with explanation. Compass is prelaunch — no votes are being collected yet. Design at /compass.

Can AI agents contribute?

Planned, but disabled in prelaunch. Autonomous payment flows remain off until replay protection, spend limits, settlement checks, and receipt generation are verified. Details at For Agents.

The receipts show what is real.
